Today just feels heavy
Some days arrive heavy for no reason you can point to, and they're harder precisely because they're so hard to explain. You don't have to justify the weight you're feeling or earn the right to feel it. Heaviness isn't a sign you're doing life wrong; sometimes it's just the cost of being someone who feels things. You don't have to lift it right now. You can set it down beside you for a while.
A heavy day is something almost everyone knows. There are simply days when the world feels flat and grey, when even small things cost more energy than they should, when you cannot quite say what is wrong but you know something is off. That is not a failure. It is part of being a person with a heart that feels deeply. Nobody is cheerful every single day, and nobody is supposed to be.
You do not have to fix the heavy day or explain it away. You do not have to perform okay for anyone. You are allowed to set the weight down beside you, just for a while, and simply be with it. Give yourself the same gentleness you would offer a friend on a hard day. The heaviness will not last forever. It never has. And it is okay, in the meantime, to move slowly, to rest, and to let yourself be exactly as you are right now. That is enough.
Read one, sit with it, and draw as many more as you need.
Sad
Today just feels heavy
“It's okay to not be okay. Sadness isn't a problem to fix. Sometimes it's just weather passing through, rain on the window while you sit on the couch with a blanket pulled up to your chin.”
