Too much, all at once

It all arrived at the same time, and there was never a version of you that could have carried it gracefully. When everything feels urgent, nothing gets the calm attention it deserves, and that isn't a flaw in you. You are allowed to set something down, even just for the length of this page. Right here, there is nothing to manage and nothing due.

Overwhelm is one of the most ordinary things a person can feel, and it does not depend on how capable you are. Everyone, at some point, has a stretch where the list grows bigger than the day, where a few small things suddenly feel like one huge thing. That is not proof you are doing it wrong. It is what happens when a mind that is built to carry one thing at a time is asked to carry several at once. You are made for a lot. But everything, all together, is a lot for anyone. That is not weakness. It is just being human.

So this moment does not have to be earned. Rest is not a reward you collect after finishing everything; it is a need, like water, like sleep, and turning it away only makes what is already heavy feel heavier. For these few minutes you do not have to be efficient or ahead or on top of it. You only have to be here while the next breath arrives on its own. This pause is not a delay in your day. It is part of it, and it is allowed. Set the heaviest thing down, just for now. You are not behind. You are resting, and resting is how any tired person finds the strength to go on.

Read one, sit with it, and draw as many more as you need.

Overwhelmed

Too much, all at once

Set it all down for a second. You don't have to hold every piece at once. Just the one thing right in front of you.
