Everyone needs something from me

You've become the person everyone reaches for, and somewhere in all that reaching, your own hands got full. Being needed is not the same as being cared for, and you've gone a long while on the wrong one. It is not selfish to have a limit; it's one of the most honest things about being human. This small moment asks nothing of you. You don't have to be anyone's answer right now.

There is a quiet exhaustion that comes from always being available, from being the one who shows up, who fixes it, who says yes before you even check whether you have anything left to give. Most of us know this pull. We want to help the people we love, and we worry that if we step back even once, someone will be disappointed. But you cannot keep handing out what you do not have. A jar that is being poured from eventually runs out, and pouring from an empty one helps no one, least of all the people you care about.

Having a limit is not a flaw. It is the thing that makes your help real, because what you give can only be given by someone who has saved a little for themselves. For these few minutes, you are not anyone's answer. You are not anyone's rescue. You are just a person, allowed to rest, and that is more than enough to be right now.

Read one, sit with it, and draw as many more as you need.

Everyone needs something from me

You are one person, not a public utility. There is a limit to how many directions you can be pulled before something gives, and it shouldn't be you.
