Like I don't measure up

You're holding yourself against some measuring stick, and right now it's telling you that you come up short. But that ruler was handed to you by comparison, and it has never once told the truth about your worth. You don't have to measure up to anything to deserve kindness, least of all your own. The you that feels not enough right now is already far more than enough; it's the feeling that's lying.

Nearly every person has looked at themselves and decided they come up short against some standard. That standard, almost always, was built from comparison, from measuring your real, complicated life against someone else's carefully chosen moments. It is a contest no one could ever win, because you are comparing your insides to someone else's outsides. The feeling of not measuring up is one of the most common burdens there is, and it is almost never based on the true facts.

You are enough because you are here, real, and human, not because of what you have achieved. Kindness is not something you must earn by measuring up; it is yours the way breath is yours, without a score. Set the stick down, gently, and look at yourself the way you would look at someone you love. The voice that insists you fall short is not telling the truth. It is a tired, comparing voice, and it has been wrong about you many times. You are more than enough, exactly as you are.

Read one, sit with it, and draw as many more as you need.

Not Enough

Like I don't measure up

Comparison is a rigged game. You are matching your bloopers against everyone else's highlight reel and then calling yourself the loser.
